Fundación SEPI carries out training and research activities, and it also publishes studies of a financial and economic nature; it manages the hall of residence Colegio Mayor Universitario, the training and meeting facility Campus Los Peñascales and the grant programs for facilitating the entry into the labor market, as well as social services and benefits.
INFORMATION ABOUT FUNDACIÓN SEPI
Fundación SEPI began its activities in 1964. It is engaged in training and research activities, as well as in carrying out studies focused on economics and the corporation. Thus, this year 2014 takes place the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of its creation.
The Board of Directors of the state-owned industrial holding company Sociedad Estatal de Participaciones Industriales (SEPI) resolved to merge the Fundación Laboral SEPI and Fundación SEPI, in keeping with the Plan for the Reorganization and Rationalization of the state-owned corporations and trusts, which was approved by the Council of Ministers on March 16th, 2012.
The objective of the merger was to unify the foundational goals of both entities, which were oriented towards the promotion of initiatives and projects concerning SEPI’s corporate social responsibility, understood as the active and voluntary contribution carried out by this entity towards the country’s social, economic and environmental improvement.
The new resulting Trust, under the name of Fundación SEPI assumes the social goal of the two former entities, as well as their joint assets, among which is the hall of residence Colegio Mayor Universitario Fundación SEPI and the Campus Los Peñascales.
Fundación SEPI is governed by a Board of Trustees which is chaired by SEPI’s Chairperson.
Most of the activities of Fundación SEPI revolve around the education field, specifically on the training process, both in the university and in managerial posts. Equally, it seeks to promote the realization of economic and corporate studies.
Among its goals is also that of preserving the historical memory of the employees of the corporate state-owned sector and their contribution to the achievements of the former Instituto Nacional de Industria (INI) and of the other entities which have made up the State’s corporate sector, and especially SEPI, analyzing and disseminating their contribution to Spain’s industrial, economic and social development.

The previous Fundación SEPI was set up by Instituto Nacional de Industria (INI) on March 10th, 1964, as a beneficial-educational trust. In 1982 it took the name Fundación Empresa Pública and in 2002, it changed its name to that of Fundación SEPI.
Fundación Laboral SEPI was set up in 1979 by the Instituto Nacional de Industria, integrating the assets and activities of a social nature which were carried out by INI itself.
