Mr. Miguel Ferre and Mr. Jaime Haddad, new Members of SEPI’s Board of Directors

After the meeting of the Board of Directors which took place

  • The Deputy Secretary of Finance and the Undersecretary of Agriculture take their posts after Mr. Álvaro Nadal and Mr. Carlos San Basilio stepped down

The Deputy Secretary of Finance, Mr. Miguel Ferre, and the Undersecretary of Agriculture, Food and the Environment, Mr. Jaime Haddad, took their posts as new Members of the Board of Directors of the state-owned holding company SEPI during the meeting which this evening organized SEPI’s highest level governing body.SEPI’s Chairperson, Mr. Ramón Aguirre, welcomed the new Members and wished to express his recognition to the Members who step down, Mr. Álvaro Nadal and Mr. Carlos San Basilio, for their work and dedication during all these months, and his wishes for their future professional success.

Deputy Secretary of Finance

The Deputy Secretary of Finance, Mr. Miguel Ferre Navarrete, has a Law degree by Universidad Complutense de Madrid and he has made post-degree studies in Financial and Tax Law. Besides, he is a State Finance Inspector since 1991 as a result of his winning a free competitive examination, and a lawyer of the Madrid Bar Association. Until his appointment as Deputy Secretary he performed a number of functions as General Undersecretary for Statistics and Planning in the Customs and Excise Department (1996 -2000); Finance Advisor in Spain’s Standing Representation before the European Union at Brussels (2000–2006); General Deputy Director for International Tax issues in the Tax Directorate of the Ministry of Economics and Finance (2006 – 2009); a Member of the OECD’s Committee for Tax Issues and of the Committee of Experts on International Cooperation in Tax Matters of the United Nations; a Member of the (Sociedad Estatal de Suelo); a Partner for International Tax Matters in Pricewaterhouse Coopers (2009-2011); or a regular participant in the professional and academic symposia at the Instituto de Estudios Fiscales, Instituto de Fomento Empresarial, Asociación para el Progreso de Dirección (APD) and Universidad Carlos III.

Undersecretary for Agriculture, Food and the Environment

As for the Undersecretary for Agriculture, Food and the Environment, Mr. Jaime Haddad Sánchez de Cueto, he has a Law degree, and he hold the post of Technical General Secretary in the Transport and Infrastructures Department of the regional government of Madrid. He is a member of the Official Association of State Civil Administrators, and he was Technical General Secretary in the Health Department of the regional government of Madrid, as well as a number of posts in the Cabinet of the Minister of Agriculture during the years 1997–1999. He has also headed the General Directorate for Economic Planning and Institutional Coordination in the Ministry of Agriculture, Fishing and Food and the General Secretariat of the Spanish Fund for Farm Caution (Fondo Español de Garantía Agraria).It must be mentioned that SEPI’s Board of Directors is made up by its Chairperson, Mr. Ramón Aguirre, the Vice President, Mr. Federico Ferrer, the General Secretary and of the Board, Mr. Alfredo Parra, and by a total of 14 Members who represent the Ministry of the President; Finance and Public Administrations; Economy and Competitiveness; Defense; Industry, Energy and Tourism; Employment and Social Security; Public Works, and Agriculture, Food and the Environment.
