Ms. Pilar Platero Sanz, SEPI’s new Chairwoman

The Spanish Government, during the meeting held today of the Council of Ministers, has appointed Ms. Pilar Platero Sanz SEPI’s new Chairwoman.
Ms. Platero, who recently left the position of Under Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, replaces Mr. Ramón Aguirre at SEPI’s Chairmanship, after the former won a seat in the Spanish Lower House in the General Elections in June 26th. The new Chairwoman was a member of SEPI’s Board of Directors.
She holds a degree in Law by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and belongs to the Treasury and Customs Inspectorate and to the Corps of State Comptrollers and Auditors. Among the jobs which she has carried out during her professional career as a public servant, mention must be made to her contribution as a member of the committee for the reorganization of the public Administration, in which she was Deputy Chairwoman, or managerial positions in a number of areas at the Office of the State Comptroller.
She was the Delegate of the Office of the State Comptroller at the Prado Museum in Madrid, Head of Staff for the Under Secretary for the Budget from 2003 to 2004, as well as Advisor for the Minister of Finance from 2000 to 2003.
On the other hand, at the international level, Ms. Platero has played a role as Consultant in the activities carried out by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
