SEPI and the Government of Generalitat Valenciana agree the sale of Nave Talleres located at the Sagunto Port
12 January 2018 | Valencia
The Chairwoman of the state-owned industrial holding company Sociedad Estatal de Participaciones Industriales (SEPI), Ms. Pilar Platero, and the President of the regional Government of Generalitat Valenciana, Mr. Ximo Puig, have concluded today the transfer to the regional Government of the Nave de Talleres, also known as Nave Fundición Nueva; this industrial facility is located on the Sagunto Port and is owned by SEPIDES, an affiliated company of Grupo SEPI, for the amount of 3,018,723 € and the transfer of a land plot in Paterna, with an assessed value of 774,000 €.
The agreement about this emblematic building of the Sagunto Port, which has been refurbished for hosting cultural events, was concluded in a ceremony which took place at the Palau de la Generalitat. The ceremony was attended also by the Delegate of the Central Government in Valencia, Mr. Juan Carlos Moragues, by the Heads of the Treasury and Education Departments of the regional Government of Generalitat Valenciana, Mr. Vicent Soler and Mr. Vicent Marzá, respectively, as well as by Sagunto’s Mayor, Mr. Josep Francesc Fernández, and by SEPIDES’ Chairwoman, Ms. Rosa Mosulén. The transfer of the Nave strengthens the existing collaboration between the Central and regional Administrations for the economic and social promotion of this region.
A further proof of this cooperation between the Central and the regional Administrations in the Comunidad valenciana, which SEPI seeks to promote in all its activities with the different Administrations, is the development of the Parc Sagunt I business park through the company Parc Sagunt, S.L., 50% owned by Generalitat Valenciana, through the IVACE company, while the remaining 50% is owned by SEPI, through SEPIDES. It involves an environmental and corporate promotion activity, on which around 135 M€ have been invested, and which is contributing to the area’s development and its transformation into a logistical referent at European level.
The work carried out on this business park has already made possible the sale, through a public bid, of 26 land plots, with a value of 134.5 M€, which will entail the setup of a score of companies, with an induced investment of almost 350 M€ and the generation of around 2,000 jobs. To this must be added the award of a further four land plots to as many companies. Among the companies which have purchased land at Parc Sagunt are, among others, Mercadona, Zuvamesa, Crown Holding, Jofemesa and Valencia Plataforma Intermodal.
This instance of collaboration between Administrations and of support to regional development might continue during the second stage of the development of this business park, called Parc Sagunt II, for whose promotion there is a total commitment on SEPI’s part on carrying out a study on the feasibility of the future Project.
