SEPI and the Requena´s City Council promote the creation of a business park in that town

28 November 2006 |

The Chairman of the state-owned industrial holding company Sociedad Estatal de Participaciones Industriales (SEPI), Mr. Enrique Martínez Robles and the Mayor of the town of Requena, Mr. Adelo Montes Diana, have subscribed today a collaboration agreement by which the City Council will promote, while Infoinvest, through its affiliated company Ingruinsa, will develop a business park in this town of the autonomous region of the Comunidad Valenciana.

The goal of this Agreement is to provide to the city council with land developed for industrial use, so that new production activities and new corporate projects can be set-up, which contribute to the towns´ social and economic development as part of a rational and disciplined urban development process, free of any speculative practice.

This land development action will take place on a total surface of about 1,660,000 square meters, on the area known as ´Los Llanos del Rebollar´, located on a strategic site within the influence zone of the metropolitan area of the city of Valencia and which is very near of a number of important communication networks and centers, both by land (the freeway Madrid-Valencia and the turnpike road ´autopista del Mediterráneo´), by sea (the ports of Valencia and Sagunto) and by air (the Manises airport).

The land development will be carried out between 2007 and 2009, and it is envisaged that its sale will begin in 2007, being completed by 2011. SEPI´s activity, which will take place through Infoinvest/Ingruisa, will entail the total investment of about 80 million Euros.

The project will be carried out in an area included in the Previous Accord, which was approved by the Requena´s City Council and which will be soon approved by the regional Government, the Generalitat Valenciana. The social expectation created by the development of the business park has been high, and already 70% of the land plots on which the business park will be developed have been offered by their owners to the developers, through a document supporting the City Council´s project.

The Agreement subscribed today makes possible to carry out the commitments made by SEPI in 2002, and to recover in this way the project for the creation of a business park in Requena, which had remained shelved since that year until now.
