SEPI´s Board of Directors approves the appointment of the new Chairmen of ENSA and CETARSA

The Board of Directors of the state-owned holding company Sociedad Estatal de Participaciones Industriales (SEPI) has approved today the appointment of Mr. José Francisco Ballesteros Pinto as the Chairman of the company Equipos Nucleares, S.A. (ENSA) and of Mr. Julio Viñuela Díaz as the Chairman of CETARSA. Equally, the Board has been informed by SEPI´s Chairman, Mr. Enrique Martínez Robles, about the appointment of Mr. Luis Atienza Serna as a Member of the Board and as the Chairman of Red Eléctrica de España, S.A.

Mr. José Francisco Ballesteros Pinto has been, until his appointment as ENSA´s Chairman, substituting Mr. Emilio J. Cabrera, Manager in charge of Participated Companies at SEPI since September 2001. He is a graduate in Economics, has a Master in Financial Management, is a graduate in Senior Management, State Comptroller and Auditor and Tax Inspector, Chartered Accountant and Auditor inscribed in the ROAC. He has occupied, among other posts, that of General Director of the Sociedad Estatal de Participaciones Patrimoniales and of Economic and Budgetary Policy at the Ministry of Public Works, Transports and the Environment, and Manager in charge of Finances and Administration at the GIF. Has been a Director, among others, of the Boards of Directors of Aena, EFE, GIF and Tragsa.

CETARSA´s new Chairman, Mr. Julio Viñuela Díaz, was born in Ibahernando (Cáceres) in 1941. He is a graduate in Economics and State Trade Technician and Economist. Until this appointment, he was an Advisor in the Public Finances Department at the International Monetary Fund and before, he was Chief Economics and Trade Adviser at Spain´s embassy in Washington, as well as, within the Ministry of Economics and the Treasury, General Secretary of Planning and Budgets, General Director of Coordination with the Territorial Treasuries, General Director of Regional Incentives and General Director of Planning. He has been a Member of the Boards of Directors of Telefónica, Banco de Crédito Local, Cedeti, INI and Astilleros Españoles.
