13 June 2016 |
The Spanish Patents and Brands Office has awarded the patent for the design and development of the “Tool for moving around the spent nuclear fuel within the cells of a storage swimming pool”.
The tool makes possible to access the fuel items which are outside the vertical of the hook of the second crane, allowing to perform the hooking and unhooking of the spent fuel items regardless of its position on the storage swimming pool.
ENSA has an active participation in the management of the fuel at the nuclear power plants, and it has a long experience in racks for fresh and spent fuel for the wet storage in swimming pools and in spent fuel containers for dry transport and storage.
The Company is a supplier with a marked multisystem nature, and it offers its own designs and metallic dual-purpose (storage and transport) containers, and racks (region II for fuel type BWR and PWR).
As a result of its policy of continuous improvement and technological innovation, ENSA carries out R&D projects which seek to improve its services and develop new products with which to satisfy the market’s future requirements.
