NAVANTIA signs a contract for providing support to the Norwegian frigates during five years

NAVANTIA has signed with the Norwegian Ministry of Defense a five-year contract for providing support for the maintenance of the five frigates of the Fridjoft Nansen class (F310), which were built by NAVANTIA between 2000 and 2011, and which are currently being operated by the Norwegian Navy.

This contract comes after the contract which both parties concluded in June 2013, and which now is extended, thus showing the trust which the Norwegian Government has on NAVANTIA, as well as the Company’s commitment with the maintenance of these ships.

The new contract, besides spanning the technical assistance, maintenance, repair, engineering studies, implementation of improvements, training and supply of spare parts and components services, which the previous contract already featured, includes a service of continuous support to the maintenance of the Integrated Platform Management System of these vessels, as well as a system for controlling the obsolescence of spare parts and components (detection and solution regarding the loss of validity of those items) and for the ships’ maintenance and configuration.

It is worthwhile recalling that NAVANTIA opened up last June a commercial office in Bergen, beside the naval base in which the ships are deployed, in a show of commitment on the part of the Company for strengthening its presence in the country and for expanding the commercial relationship with this customer, which plays a strategic role for NAVANTIA.
