A total of 24 graduates begin their training period in HUNOSA thanks to the current agreement with the Fundación Universidad de Oviedo

Twenty four graduates have begun to work in the state-owned coal mining company HUNOSA thanks to the agreement concluded with the Fundación Universidad de Oviedo, which will allow them to work as interns for one year. The interns will come into the financial, legal, human resources, mining and documentation departments, among others.

Besides this internship program and for a shorter period of time, as a result of the collaboration agreements which HUNOSA has concluded with other university departments, throughout the year a further twenty students will participate in this training activities. These interns develop their activities in all of the Company’s fields, from the financial to the legal areas, including the Historical Archive in the Human Resources department or, also, within the Mining area, both in the shafts and in the administrative services.

Collaboration between the Company and the University

HUNOSA has maintained for decades a clear commitment with training and collaboration with the University. This commitment translates into the work-experience agreements: in research undertakings with Oviedo’s Mining School and with Mieres Technical College; into the traditional Cátedra de HUNOSA, as well into the R&D agreement, in which plays a special role the development of research activities focused on the commercial exploit of geothermal power and thermal biomass.

The Company regards as fundamental to focus the research on the promotion of the industrial activity and in fostering the training of the future professionals.

For its part, the Fundación Universidad de Oviedo (FUO) has set as its goal promoting the relationships between the human capital of the Oviedo University and the entrepreneurial structure, so that it can better contribute to economic development and social innovation.

HUNOSA and Grupo SEPI

HUNOSA belongs to Grupo SEPI, a corporate holding which includes a total of 16 state-owned companies in which it has direct, majority shareholding participations, with a final workforce of around 73,000 professionals in 2014; the Spanish state-owned television and radio corporation, Corporación Radiotelevisión Española, which is attached to SEPI, and one public foundation. Equally, SEPI has direct minority shareholdings in a further ten companies, and indirect shareholdings in more than one hundred companies.
