AGENCIA EFE and UNED organize the Master on Transmedia Journalism

The news agency  AGENCIA EFE and the Spanish Open University or Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED) organize the Master in Transmedia Journalism, which offers face-to-face and remote training within this branch of communication, which explores new journalistic stories, integrating different platforms and formats within a digital environment.

This course, which was offered in previous years under the title “Master on International Journalism” is provided by UNED’s professors and by professionals from AGENCIA EFE. It is aimed at graduates from any country, and it combines the online teaching with practical work at EFE’s offices in Spain and in the rest of the world.

The program of the Master, which this year is updated with new teaching modules regarding digital publishing, the transmedia news, and the relationship between the communication media with citizenship, maintains the contents from previous years regarding international journalism and news agency multimedia.

More detailed information about the Master, whose enrollment period began this week and will end on December 1st, can be found at the UNED’s website https://formacionpermanente.uned.es/tp_actividad/idactividad/9228 and at the website of AGENCIA EFE’s Training School http://www.efeescuela.es.

The classes, both theoretical and practical, will be given according to UNED’s teaching methodology, which allows the students to follow up the course from any place in the world, through the different resources and means which UNED has at its disposal (virtual platform, internet, email, telephone, and TeleUNED).

Besides the classes, there will be a 12-week period of no-remunerated internship, at the nearest office which AGENCIA EFE has to the student’s place of residence, thus allowing him or her to complete their training with the work experience at one of the most important international information agencies.

With this series, the collaboration agreement between UNED - the biggest Spanish university, with 260,000 students all over the world – and AGENCIA EFE – the first world news agency in Spanish – becomes consolidated.
