  • On Sunday September 18th will begin the autumn’s Season at HZ

Closing race meeting for the summer Season at the horse racetrack of HIPÓDROMO DE LA ZARZUELA which, as happened with previous ones, was a complete success in terms of the number of visitors, with a large attendance of aficionados and visitors from Madrid. This summer, “Las Noches del Hipódromo” (The Nights at the Horse Racetrack) have become one of the most spectacular and demanded leisure attractions in the capital.

The Czech jockey Vaclav Janacek imposed himself in two of the contested races, becoming one of the main figures of the night. In the first race in the program, the Premio Pazifiksturm, he achieved the victory riding Mascarado in what was a great race of the horse from the stable Cuadra Jarilla, in which it began at the head of the pack and in which he arrived first to the finish line without problems, thus awarding a new triumph this summer to the trainer Fernando Pérez in the wake of his fantastic spell. Gueral attacked on the home stretch in an attempt to overtaking the winner, but he just managed to secure the second place, two and a half lengths behind the winner, while the third place went to Mad Dog. This first winning threesome recorded a 128.60€ payout.

A second victory in a row for Kuboki, from the stable Cuadra Tezhino, and twin victory for Janacek in the Premio Recta Final. Once again won the horse trained by José Carlos Cerqueira, progressing from the middle of the pack and making a sprint on the outer lanes, while on his right Kingkaye arrived second, three and a half lengths behind him, while Melibea arrived third, also three lengths behind the second classified.

Captain Moonlite won without problems, led by the gentleman Diego Sarabia in the Premio Sanctissima, thus achieving his fourth consecutive victory. A feat which was not easy for the horse trained by Blas Rama, owned by the stable Cuadra Jimena, on which nobody disturbed him and in which he managed to impose himself after leading all the way and maintaining his place to the end, getting almost two lengths ahead of Stamp of Approval. The third place went to Sueva, which progressed from behind.

In the Lototurf race, the Premio Lore _ Toki, Suevo imposed himself with ease (Juan Luis Maroto _ Cuadra Tiziano) led by José Luis Martínez, after going all the way behind Ebeón, which he managed to overtake on the last meters of the home stretch, thus arriving alone to the finish line, easily, more than four lengths ahead of his pursuers. Zuloaga completed the winning threesome, which recorded a 768.20€ payout.

Cogent, trained by Teodoro Callejo Solana, was the last winner of the night in the Premio Játiva. It was Jaime Gelabert who succeeded in obtaining the first victory of the colt from the stable Cuadra Celso Méndez with a splendid sprint on the outer lanes of the track, almost three lengths ahead of Peruvian Queen. Anassarete arrived third.

The Quíntuple Plus for August 11th is made up by the following numbers: 2 - 1 – 6 - 7 - 2 – 10.

The next meeting at the Hipódromo de La Zarzuela will take place on Sunday, September 18th. At 11:30 am will begin the first of the seven horse races in the program for this first race meeting of the autumn 2016 Season, with the Gran Premio Subasta ACPSIE 2015 as the most outstanding one.
