NAVANTIA and INDRA will modernize a corvette for the Indonesian Navy for 18 M$
  • Both companies combine their most advanced naval solutions for upgrading the vessel’s combat system.
  • The indonesian shipyard PT PAL trusts this project to the consortium made up by INDRA and NAVANTIA, thus opening up the door to new business opportunities.

The consortium made up by INDRA and NAVANTIA has won the update of the Combat System of the corvette KRI-362 Malahayati of the Indonesian Navy in a contract concluded with the shipyard PT PAL for 18 M$ (circa 15.7 M€).

Both companies will work for supplying to the Indonesian Navy the most advanced Spanish marine electronic technology.

The project takes place within the framework of the Medium Life Modernization (MLM) program for this corvette of the Falahillah class, which was awarded to the Indonesian military shipyard PT PAL.

The update of the Combat System includes the renewal of the sensors and of the fire control, integrating them through a modern combat management system.

Some of the most advanced systems from both of these companies for the naval industry, such as INDRA’s ESM RIGEL system for electronic defense or NAVANTIA’s DORNA fire control or the CATIZ combat management system achieve, thanks to this new contract, a new reference, thus strengthening their positions on the international market.

The collaboration with Indonesia’s reference military shipyard PT PAL in this program also opens up new future opportunities.

INDRA and NAVANTIA have set up in this project a business model in which both companies join up their strengths in the areas into which they are more specialized.

Furthermore, both companies jointly work in several programs for the future F110 frigate for the Spanish Navy, as well as in other opportunities for the export market.
