SEPIDES takes a 48% stake in DCB, the Spanish leading company in tracing technologies

With the investment of two Million Euros
The Board of Directors of SEPI Desarrollo Empresarial (SEPIDES), an affiliated company of the state-owned holding company Sociedad Estatal de Participaciones Industriales (SEPI), has authorized the investment of two Million Euros into the social capital of Diseño Código Barras S.A. (DCB), the Spanish leading company in comprehensive solutions for the automatic tracing, identification, capture and transmission of data through the use of the latest technologies.
The entry of SEPIDES into DCBs´ social capital el capital social de DCB - taking a 48% stake, will allow the Spanish company, whose headquarters are in Barcelona, to start an ambitious strategic plan for the development of new applications and products, as well as the opening of new markets. The plan envisages the investment of over four Million Euros during the next three years.
DCB´s new strategy entails the reorganization of the commercial structure, the diversification of the customer basis, the product reorientation towards the industrial and commercial sectors, and consolidating its Balance through the increase of long-term assets.
DCB was incorporated in 1989 and it is specialized in manufacturing and commercializing products and services related with the automatic identification, tracing and capture of data in all areas of corporate management. Its turnover in 2004 amounted to 7.8 Million Euros, and it has customer portfolio of over 4,000 customers all over Spain in the industrial, hospital and Government areas.
