Sustainable development constitutes a priority in the management of the companies of Grupo SEPI
The environmental effort of Grupo SEPI amounted to 80.9 M€ in 2023.
SEPI assumes the commitment of fighting against Climate Change, setting its new sustainability policy in agreement with the European and international agreements subscribed by Spain and with the national plans made by the Spanish Government.
The Group’s environmental management is aimed at providing the tools needed for detecting, preventing, and mitigating the environmental impacts resulting from its economic activities, as well as the risks and opportunities which the Environment generates on corporate activity.
Environmental policy of Grupo SEPI
The basic lines of the sustainability policy of Grupo SEPI on the environmental issue are as follows:
- Assuming the commitment of fighting against Climate Change, setting Grupo SEPI’s goals in line with those of the Paris Agreement and implementing and developing measures focused on mitigation and adaptation.
- Guaranteeing energy security, through the supply of energy which is sustainable in an environmental and financial way, promoting a fair energy transition, one which takes into account its impact on the persons, local communities, and on Society at large.
- Fostering a culture which respects the natural environment, reducing the environmental impact of the activities, promoting the protection of the natural heritage and of biodiversity, as well as promoting information and training in this culture.
- Promoting a circular economy based on a production and consumption model in which the value of the products, materials, and resources is preserved in the economy for as long as possible, and one in which waste generation is reduced to a minimum, and those which cannot be prevented are reused as much as possible.
