- This order’s customers, FENOC and Westinghouse, have transmitted to ENSA their “high level of satisfaction with the final product”
The four replacement components for the Beaver Valley plant in Pennsylvania (USA), manufactured by Equipos Nucleares, S.A (ENSA) reached their destination and were delivered at the plant’s storage facilities on July 24th, as envisaged.
The shipment of the three steam generators and of the vessel upper head for the plant’s second reactor began on June 17th. From the facilities which ENSA has at Maliaño, the components crossed the Atlantic Ocean and reached the Gulf of Mexico; from there to the Mississippi Delta for finally reaching the plant, which is located on the Ohio River.
The company from Cantabria studied and organized both the shipment by sea and by land at its facility, something which required almost one year and a half, and which has guaranteed that the components arrived in perfect conditions and the successful completion of the project.
A high level of satisfaction
The customers of this order, FENOC and Westinghouse, have both transmitted to ENSA their “high level of satisfaction with the final product”. They pointed out that the Maliaño-sited company “has managed to make all well from beginning to end”.
In 2005 ENSA already supplied the same set of replacement components for unit no. 1, and due to the good results and to their high quality, the customer ordered in August to the company from Cantabrian the manufacture of the components for its second reactor.
The persons in charge of the project in ENSA stated that “the delivery has been made, once again, fulfilling the high levels of excellence which we at ENSA demand from ourselves in all of our works, but it would have been difficult to complete it without a good work totally made in team”, they concluded.
