Within the framework of the Rationalization of the State-Owned Real Estate Assets, and with the goal of optimizing the space in the tower located in the Ministerial Complex in Cuzco, which is on the Paseo de la Castellana in Madrid, the building has undergone a comprehensive refurbishment work.
The works carried out on a 28,354 m2 surface sought to obtain optimized offices, with new areas in keeping with existing general constructions, both within the building and in the rest of the site.
The main technical requirements which had to be met were the following:
- Energy saving,
- Improving the interior finishing,
- The building air-conditioning and lighting systems,
- Installing a fire-protection system, and
- Refurbishing the bathrooms on the different floors.
This work is the result of a long project from the Madrid Managerial Unit in Madrid of Grupo TRAGSA, and which began with the submission of the Basic Project on August 2nd, 2013 for the refurbishment of 18 floors in the tower and of the communications room, which are used by the Ministry of Economics (MINECO).
From then onwards, the original order was progressively changed in order to adapt it to the project’s real requirements, until making a reform of the whole tower and adding to the original order the refurbishment of a further 4.5 floors occupied by staff from the Ministry of Finance and Public Administrations (MINHAP), whose technical project was prepared by Tragsatec’s Engineering and Building Managerial Unit (Grupo TRAGSA).
