- This contract means guaranteeing the supply for ENUSA
During the Nuclear World Exhibition which took place last week in France, the Spanish company ENUSA Industrias Avanzadas and the French company AREVA concluded a multiyear contract for the supply of uranium enrichment services. This enriched uranium will be used as fuel in the reactors of the Spanish nuclear power plants.
The partners highlighted the value and benefits which the above mentioned contract entails, since for ENUSA means guaranteeing the supply, while for AREVA it is part of its commercial strategy focused on developing stable and long-term relationships with the main players in the nuclear industry.
These services will be carried out in the new enrichment plant Georges Besse II, which is located in Southern France in Tricastin, through the use of the centrifugation technology.
Mr. Luc Oursel, Areva’s Chief Executive Officer, declared: 'AREVA is very glad that ENUSA has entrusted this key stage for the manufacture of its nuclear fuel to us. This contract is a new contribution to the long-standing relationship with ENUSA, which began in 1970'.
For his part, Mr. José Luis González, ENUSA’s Chairman, said that 'this supply contract contributes to the long-term consolidation of the commercial relationship between both companies'.
